When Nevada revamped its business laws several years ago they virtually copied Delaware's. Delaware (or now Nevada) is were most US companies are incorporated due to the business laws. This is a very import to corporations. But it is not just business laws, the pro business environment extends everywhere. For example, in California a tenant who knows what they are doing can remain in a property for almost one year before they are evicted. In Las Vegas evictions take about 20 days.
Rapid evections have a larger impact than I initially thought. The impact of Las Vegas' eviction laws are wider ranging than I initially considered. I realized the following only after hearing similar comments from multiple people and I believe it to be true. In a state like California where evictions are almost impossible, renters tend to pay bills in the following order: car payment, credit cards and lastly rent (if they have the money). In Las Vegas, renters tend to pay bills in the following order: car payment, rent and (if the have the money), credit cards. This has resulted in a different attitude on the part of renters since they know if they do not pay on time, they will shortly be out.
